While there are as many different types of MBA degrees as there are businesspeople, there are a few standard MBA tracks or emphases that are fairly standard from university to university. Today, we'll take a look at the financial planning MBA degree, the marketing MBA degree, and the human resources MBA degree.
The MBA Degree in Financial Planning
Even within the finance field, there are two divisions: corporate finance and financial institutions. The corporate finance MBA degree program trains students for careers as treasurers, financial analysts, and controllers for large corporations. The corporate finance MBA degree also trains students for general administration with a strong finance background. For those interested in working in banking, the financial institutions track trains students to work in investment banking, commercial banking, and securities management.
The Marketing MBA Degree
One of the most popular MBA degrees is the marketing degree. And indeed, marketing is one of the most important fields in business. A successful business depends upon successful and effective marketing. Students in a marketing MBA degree program may be trained in brand management, market analysis, e-commerce, database marketing, high technology marketing, and information systems.
The Human Resources or Organizational Behavior MBA Degree
Human resource and organizational behavior specialists help companies and employees work more effectively. Human resources covers training and development, change management, leadership, motivation, organizational design, teamwork, and company culture.
MBA Degrees on Campus and Online
Whichever track you choose, there are plenty of MBA degree programs from which to choose. Do your homework, and find out which colleges and universities offer the track in which you are interested. Also, explore executive MBA degree options and online MBA degree programs. You are sure to find an MBA degree program that fits your needs.
